Italian breakfast
One thing I miss from Italy is the typical breakfast with coffee or cappuccino and croissant (called also brioche).
Nothing compares to the smell of just-baked pastry filled with jam or cream... and a cup of hot black espresso coffee. The best way to start a day if you want to pamper yourself! Maybe not the healthiest one, but for sure tasty and fulfilling.
Every Italian like very much to meet their friends and colleagues in a "bar" and share breakfast together; honestly, every moment in the day is an opportunity to socialize and meet people in one of those café.

Last year I went back to Italy and one of the first thing I did was having breakfast with a couple of friends in a bar.
This amazing croissant we ordered had a filling with pistachio cream, I can't tell how good it was! Crunchy outside and creamy inside... pure lust!
The most popular filling are, by the way, apricot jam, chocolate cream or custard cream. Sometimes you can find croissants made with wholemeal flour and berries jam, vegan croissants and also croissants with no filling at all, for those who are on a diet.
My favourite one is absolutely the pistachio croissant, a taste that you won't easily forget!

For those planning to go on a trip to Italy, you can try these wonderful specialities that you can see in my photos at "Lettherarium", a café and tea room in the city of Belluno.
Enjoy your Italian breakfast :)
